    IgG Allergy panels

Food sensitivities can cause a wide range of symptoms and disorders. The foods that cause these delayed reactions are often hard to diagnose because of the time between consumption and the physical reaction. The IgG food allergy test offers a useful tool for detecting the foods causing this response. The results are patient specific and provide an easy, precise and effective starting point for dietary manipulation.

    IgA Allergy Panels

IgA antibodies are produced in the greatest quantity in a day. This is one of the most important antibodies as it is the bodies’ first line of defence against viruses and bacteria. Testing for IgA antibodies against specific foods may be raised when the lining of the intestinal tract or the mucous membrane become inflamed or damaged. Elevated IgA to specific foods can be a sign of damage to the mucous membranes in the gut. Individuals with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, or even those with suspected leaky gut may benefit from testing IgA food reactions.

    IgE Inhalants

The inhalants panel is an allergy test which evaluates antibody levels specific to common pollen’s and environmental inhalants. This is a test to consider for patients with suspected environmental and/or seasonal allergies. For a complete list of inhalants tests, please refer to the ‘Analytes’ tab.

    IgE Allergy Moulds

The IgE moulds panel is an allergy test which evaluates serum IgE levels specific to common moulds. This is an ideal allergy test for patients with suspected environmental issues.

The allergic IgE response is comprised of not only an immediate event but in many cases a late event as well. The early phase reaction usually occurs within 15 minutes of exposure to the allergen. The late phase reaction may then occur 4-6 hours later and persist for days with increased inflammation.

    IgE General Foods Blood Test

The IgE food antibody panel is a food allergy test which analyses serum levels of IgE antibodies for 27 foods, as well as Total IgE. This is a test option to consider for patients who may suffer an immediate reaction to specific foods.

The IgE allergic response is the most well-known food allergy reaction. IgE food allergy reactions usually occur immediately after the ingestion of offending foods, such as peanuts or shellfish. The IgE food antibody profile measures levels of antigen-specific IgE to common foods.

Some of the common foods that people have an IgE-mediated reaction to are things like nuts, milk and eggs.

    Candida Antibodies/Antigen

Candida overgrowth is the most common cause of systemic fungal infection and accounts for 80% of all major systemic fungal infections. Symptoms may be attributed to food sensitivity because the invasive fungi can increase rapidly in number and permeate the digestive tract.

The Candida antibodies test measures IgG, IgA and IgM antibodies

    Anti- Gliadin Antibodies

Gliadin is a protein found in gluten-containing grains like wheat, barley, and rye. Anti-gliadin antibodies are immune proteins produced response to the presence of gliadin in the body.

The anti-gliadin antibody test is useful for supporting the diagnosis of coeliac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity (2). When individuals with coeliac disease ingest gluten, their immune system mistakenly targets and damages the lining of the small intestine, leading to villous atrophy, mucosal inflammation, and systemic symptoms (2).

Through the detection of IgG and IgA anti-gliadin antibodies this panel can help confirm the need for affected individuals to follow a gluten-free diet to manage their condition and alleviate related health issues.

    Coeliac Profile

It is one of several blood tests that may be used to help assess for coeliac disease. Tissue transglutaminase IgA and/or IgG test is used as part of an evaluation for certain autoimmune conditions, most notably coeliac disease.

Tissue transglutaminase is an enzyme that repairs damage in the body. People with coeliac disease often make antibodies that attack tissue transglutaminase. They are called anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies or immunoglobin A (IgA) antibodies. Therefore, a blood test that shows higher levels of anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies can give indication of possible coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity

Gluten Sensitivity Genetic Testing can also be undertaken.

    ALCAT Test

Intolerances/Sensitivities to foods + food additives + food chemicals + environmental chemicals + herbs/dietary supplements + moulds can cause a wide range of symptoms and disorders. The ALCAT® diagnostic system detects changes in the size and number of leucocytes (i.e. immune cells) in response to exposure to the offending foods, chemicals, additives, herbs and moulds.

The ALCAT® diagnostic system is a useful test which can be used to screen for intolerance and sensitivities to:

    - Foods

    - Food Additives

    - Food Chemicals

    - Environmental Chemicals

    - Herbs/Dietary Supplements

    - Antibiotics and Anti-inflammatories

    - Moulds

    Zonulin Faecal Test

Zonulin in recent years has been discovered as an effective tool for monitoring the levels of zonulin as elevated levels of this protein are identified to be the potential doorway to leaky gut syndrome, chron’s and other inflammation, autoimmunity and gastro-intestinal diseases.

The Zonulin pathway has been exploited to deliver drugs, macromolecules, or vaccines that normally would not be absorbed through the gastrointestinal mucosal barrier. However, if the tightly regulated trafficking of macromolecules is jeopardized secondary to prolonged Zonulin up-regulation, the excessive flow of antigens in the intestinal mucosa can cause both intestinal and extra-intestinal autoimmune disorders in genetically susceptible individuals
